Start with the cleanest source you have

AI upscaling can add convincing detail, but it still depends on the original image. A sharp low-resolution image usually upscales better than a blurry high-resolution one.

If the image has visible noise or heavy JPG artifacts, denoise or recompress it gently before upscaling.

Pick the right scale

Use 2x when you only need a modest resolution boost. Use 4x for old web images, small product images, or thumbnails that need to become presentation-ready.

8x is useful for very small sources, but it takes longer and can invent more detail. Inspect the result before using it commercially.
